Overview
A high-altitude mountain estate seamlessly integrated into its surrounding natural environment using native flora, local granite boulders, and erosion-control design.
The Challenge
Steep slopes, severe winter weather, and poor, rocky soil presented significant erosion risks and made non-native vegetation impossible to sustain long-term.
Our Approach
We developed a terrace-tiered retaining system using locally sourced fieldstone and native granite. Deep-rooting native pine species, wildflower blends, and organic soil enrichment were deployed to stabilize slopes naturally while blending the home into the natural forest backdrop.
